Tips and Solutions

Computer Freeze

-  Are you frustrated because your computer will not respond?

·         “I only walked away for 10 minutes.”  This is a frequent problem in today’s workplace and can easily be resolved before you decide to assess your computer as a Malfunctioned PC.

·         Take a moment to see if there is an ILLUMINATED light on the front of the computer tower.  If so, while paying attention to the ILLUMINATED light, HOLD down the power button for 5 seconds.

·         After holding the power button down, the computer will cut off relinquishing itself of power.

·         Now, Press and Release the Power Button to start the machine up.  This should resolve the Freeze issue.

If you need to leave your computer, it is always a good idea to close any documentation and/or programs that are currently being used.  This process will assure that work will not be compromised in the event of a “Computer Freeze.”

Backing up Data to USB

Hard Drives cannot be Trusted.  Backup your data.

·         Locate your USB port on your PC or Laptop.

·         Insert flash drive into the port on your PC or Laptop.

·         Select the files you want to back up and Right Click on them and choose Copy.

·         Open "My Computer" on your PC or Laptop and you should see an icon for your Flash drive. Right click on the icon and select "Paste". You should
see your files on the flash drive. Congratulations you have just backed up your files or data
.

Backing up documents to an External source will prevent an end user from losing Important Data if a hard drive experiences a system crash or fatal error.
